CGC / Advanced Class - Builds on the basic obedience class to teach the exercises necessary to obtain AKCs Canine Good Citizen Certification.
Competitive Obedience Class (Beginner Basic Obedience is a prerequisite) - Teaches you how to handle and show your dog in Obedience Trials to obtain AKC Titles.
General Information
| 1. Your dog will learn to respond to and
respect the trainer but will still not mind you. You will have to learn how to
properly communicate with your dog and enforce your commands before your dog will take you
seriously. The easiest way to accomplish this goal is for you to learn what to do and then
train the dog yourself. |
| 2. You can avoid the stress of sending your
dog to live with someone else for several months. |
| 3. If you are the one training your dog, you
can be assured that your dog is learning though a consistent and positive approach. |
| 4. Training your dog builds a relationship
between you and your dog. You will find that you will become closer and enjoy your
dogs company more when he is under control and you can make him behave. If you send
your dog off to be trained, you lose the bonding effects of the learning process. |
| 5. Training your dog in a group situation will allow him the opportunity to learn how to behave around a large group of people and other dogs. You will also learn how to read your dog. |
What Breed of Dogs does JOTC allow?
The Jackson Obedience Training Club works to help you train your dog - whether it be purebred or mixed-breed, however, JOTC DOES NOT ALLOW WOLF OR WOLF HYBRIDS IN ITS CLASSES.
